It’s not a new innovation. But I think it’s a brilliant innovation: to cook a fish in a dishwasher. First of all, it makes you laugh. Second, it’s one of the easiest way to cook a fish. Third, you’ll have clean dishes too!

Dishwasher Salmon

1 salmon fillet
olive oil
1 lemon
half a lime
salt and pepper
fresh dill

Take a sheet of aluminum foil. Drizzle some olive oil on the foil and place the salmon fillet on it. Drizzle some olive oil on it and season with salt and pepper. Add sliced lemon, squeezed lime and fresh dill on top of the fish. Fold and pinch the aluminum foil extra tightly. Take a second aluminum foil, fold and pinch to create a watertight seal. Press it gently with your hand to make sure that the packet is airtight.

Place the packet on the top rack of the dishwasher. Run dishwasher for the entire normal cycle (the eco program is not hot enough), so about 1 hour and 30-45 minutes.

And yes, you can use the dishwashing powder normally, and yes, you can (and you should) fill the maschine with dirty dishes.

When the cycle is done, so is your salmon. Because of the cooling in the end, the fish is not super hot. But the texture is perfect. And it makes you laugh. And you have the clean dishes as well.

Try!
